Why This Web Site Was Built

The impulse for this web site was a series of discussions among Christians whose church had recently closed down, and who were struggling to find new spiritual homes.  As we discussed how to be faithful to Jesus and respectful towards scripture, whilst at the same time acknowledging that human beings now know much more about the cosmos and the nature of our planet than was known when Jesus lived and when the Bible was written.  We came across the Progressive Christianity Britain, and its ‘Eight Points’ that they believe express the Christian Life (See Link Below).  We also discussed the issues facing Christians today that presented obstacles to traditional teaching, and dissected them in the light of the Bible, and of modern knowledge.  Having done so, we felt that these studies might be of interest to other individuals and groups — and so the concept of this site was born.
